Viva Engage (formerly known as Yammer) is an effective way to collaborate with your team, as well as members of the wider organisation.
Only Local Administrators will be able to create a Viva Engage Community via the NHSmail Portal.
To create a Viva Engage Community:
1. Click Admin in the navigation bar at the top of the screen and select Yammer Connected Groups from the drop down menu
2. Click Add
3. Type in the Name and select the Owning Organisation from the drop down menu. Select the Privacy settings (i.e. Private or Public) from the drop-down and add a brief Description
Please note that Viva Engage Community will take up to 30 minutes to appear in Yammer and the NHSmail Portal..
- The Private setting means that only team owners can add members to the team.
- The Public setting allows anyone on NHSmail to join the team.
- The Name must not be more than 100 characters and may contain letters and numbers. Special characters are not allowed.
- The Description must not be more than 250 characters and may contain letters, numbers and any special characters.
Adding owners and members to the Yammer Connected Group
To add owners and members:
After following the steps 1-3 in the Creating a Yammer Connected Group section, you can add owners and members to the team.
1. Click Add
Note: Add yourself as an owner or member by checking the box next to Add Myself
A total of 100 owners can be added to a team (Public or Private) and a total of 5000 members can be added to a group (Public or Private).
2. Type the user’s name into the search box and select the tick box to the left of the user’s name.
Use the Column Picker to narrow the results by, for example status or organisation.
Note: Multiple owners and users can be added by selecting the tick box to the left of the user’s name
3. Click on Select
- Only Local Administrators can create Viva Engage Community.
- A Viva Engage Community must have at least one owner.
- Users from different organisations can be added as an owner.
- The community size capacity is based on M365 Groups which is over 100,000 thousand.
