Issue description
We are aware that Postal OTP is showing as an available option when failing to register Social Care homes and Dental practices through CQC registration.
When the Contact ID is incorrectly set 3 times, a warning message will appear offering the user to either reattempt registration via CQC or register via Postal OTP. Postal OTP is no longer a viable method for registration and if selected, organisations will not actually progress with this workflow as it has been decommissioned.
Latest updates and guidance:
This is being investigated under problem record PRB0211709.
When registering a Dental Practice or Social Care Home through CQC, if they enter an incorrect Contac ID three times and are prompted with a warning message, they should either:
- Contact the CQC team to clarify details and reattempt registration. Contact details are as follows:
- Telephone: 03000 616161
- Email: enquiries@cqc.org.uk
- Refresh the page in Portal and select the Email OTP registration method.
If you continue to experience any issues during registration, or require further guidance, we request you raise a Service Request with the helpdesk (helpdesk@nhs.net). Please reference the mentioned problem record within your request.
