Issue Description: Users’ Microsoft Teams desktop client intermittently crashes.

More info: Users may see a “We’ve run into an issue” error message. Affected users who have access to the Microsoft Teams web app can leverage this as a workaround.

Current Update: 28/01/2025 08:15:00 AM – Microsoft’s original estimated time for completion of the fix has been adjusted to allow more time for it to fully saturate into all impacted environments. They’re continuing to monitor the fix deployment as it nears completion, which is currently at 50 percent saturation. They now anticipate the deployment will complete by their next scheduled update, although some users may receive the fix prior to this time. After the deployment has completed, users encountering residual impact may need to restart their clients to receive the updated build.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and a limited number of users have their Microsoft Teams desktop client crash intermittently.

Root cause: A recent update to optimize the storage of user data introduced a regression that’s causing impact.
