Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Users may be unable to access the Room Finder in the Outlook desktop client.

More info: This impact is limited to the Outlook desktop client. Where possible, affected users can bypass impact by accessing the Room Finder using Outlook for the web or the Outlook iOS or Android apps.

Affected users receive the following error when attempting to open the Room Finder: “We can’t open the Room Finder right now. Please try again later.”

Final Update: 01/08/2024 10:10:00 AM The rollback has reached 100 percent of the affected areas and Microsoft have confirmed through monitoring service telemetry that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user attempting to access the Room Finder in the Outlook desktop app may be impacted.

Root cause: A recent service update intended to optimize the boot process in the Outlook desktop client contained a change resulting in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their feature update testing and validation methods to better identify the potential for impact to the Room Finder prior to deployment to prevent similar impact in the future, and to improve their pre-deployment update testing processes.
