Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: We are aware of an intermittent issue which resulted in legitimate macro excel files being blocked and quarantined due to the advanced scanning exception error. Impacted users will have received the error message: “A message sent to you has been rejected due to our email filtering tools identifying it as being potentially illegitimate.”

Final Update: 18/01/2024 10:30:00 AM – Relay engineers have investigated this issue and taken action to mitigate it. Our testing, alongside further monitoring this morning, has confirmed that our mitigative activities were successful and legitimate attachments are no longer being intermittently blocked. Mails quarantined incorrectly at the time were released manually, however, we advise checking with your intended recipient to confirm receipt if anything you sent was time sensitive or critical in nature.
