Guidance for organisations seeking to federate with NHSmail Calendar

Guidance on Microsoft Teams federation to allow the connection of an organisation's own implementation of Teams, either an on premise or online solution.

As a part of the Azure B2B Guest Access service, controls have been put in place to mitigate the risks associated with sharing data with external organisations. One of these controls is an external organisation domain allow-listing.

External Federated Groups will allow Local Administrators to dynamically manage guest invitations for multiple external users, mitigating the need to invite them one by one.

From July 2021, NHSmail Teams users have the ability to search, message and call users from federated ‘non-NHSmail’ organisations, and for users from the other organisation to do the same with NHSmail users.
