Issue Description: Some users’ Windows Intune devices may intermittently drop device policy assignments.
More Info : The affected device policies include but aren’t limited to:
– Endpoint Privilege Management
– Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
– Device Inventory
Final Update: 04/05/2026 09:24:00 AM– Microsoft has confirmed that a code regression introduced during the rollout of a recent update associated with a new preview feature caused impact. They have developed and deployed a fix to correct the offending update. After a period of monitoring the service health telemetry, they have confirmed that the errors associated with impact were resolved and the issue has been remediated.
Scope of impact: This issue may intermittently impact some users’ Windows Intune devices between check-ins. This information may be updated as our investigation continues.
Root cause: A code regression introduced during the rollout of a recent update associated with a new preview feature is causing impact to occur.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing how the code regression was introduced during the rollout of a recent update and are revitalizing our check in process for updates in an effort to avoid impact in like this the future
