Issue Description: Users may be intermittently unable to join town halls in Microsoft Teams on Android devices

More info: In addition, users may be unable to load the streaming player for town halls. This only impacts events that are using real time messaging protocol (RTMP) for video injection. Removing RTMP video resolves the issue.

Affected users may see the following message “The event isn’t live right now”.

The last known working Microsoft Teams build is 1416/1.0.0.2026023402 (2026023420).

Current Update: 16/04/2026 14:49:00 AM– The new build containing the fix is continuing to deploy and Microsoft expect the build will be available in the app store by the time of their next update.

Scope of impact: Users attempting to join town halls in Microsoft Teams on Android devices may be intermittently impacted. This section may be updated as the investigation progresses.

Root cause: A recent standard service update introduced an issue with the code responsible for loading town halls on Android devices leading to joining and streaming errors.
