Issue Description: Users may see an incorrect presence state using any Microsoft Teams client.

More Information: Users may show as offline, status unknown, or their presence may be outdated.

Current Update: 15/10/2024 11:12:00 AM – Microsoft have identified that an unexpected issue occurring in a section of database infrastructure, responsible for regulating Microsoft Teams presence information, was responsible for causing impact. They have restarted the affected infrastructure, and confirmed following a monitoring period that impact to end users has been remediated.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Root cause: An unexpected issue occurring in a section of database infrastructure, responsible for regulating Microsoft Teams presence information, was responsible for causing impact.

Next Steps: Microsoft are analyzing data and trends on the affected infrastructure to locate the source of the issue.
