Issue Description : Some users may have been unable to sign into Microsoft Teams via the desktop client and web browser.
More Info : Users who were successfully able to access the service may have been unable to create or join Microsoft Teams meetings.
Scope of impact : Impact was specific to some users who were served through the Asia-Pacific and Europe region.
Final Update : 24/08/2022 13:25:00 PM – Microsoft has identified that a section of infrastructure, which facilitates network authentication was not responding to access requests as expected, causing excessive network timeouts when users attempted to sign into Microsoft Teams or use some features. While they were in the process of analyzing network authentication errors, system monitoring indicated that the service had returned to normal health. Microsoft has confirmed that the issue is no longer occurring and they will continue to monitor the service to ensure that the problem does not happen again.
Root cause : A section of infrastructure, which facilitates network authentication was not responding to access requests as expected, causing excessive network timeouts when users attempted to sign into Microsoft Teams or use some features.
Next steps : Microsoft is continuing to review changes to their network authentication procedures, in addition to network trace logs to help determine the root cause of impact.
They are analyzing performance data and trends on the affected systems to help prevent this problem from happening again.
