Issue Description: Users see that Autopilot device renames aren’t being applied in Microsoft Intune.

More info: This only impact users on the build KB5121003, which are the OS builds 26200.9168 and 26100.9168.

Additionally, admin-defined BitLocker policies may not apply during Autopilot.

Current Update: 03/09/2026 09:13:00 AM – Microsoft is continuing to halt the responsible update which will prevent impact to further users. Once complete, they will provide the steps that affected users can take to remediate this issue.

Scope of impact: Your organisation is affected by this event. Impact is limited to devices running the affected operating system builds where Autopilot device rename actions are not being successfully applied. This information may be updated as the investigation continues.

Root cause: A recent service update contained a misconfiguration, which is resulting in this impact.
