Issue Description: Users may intermittently fail to open reports connected to Direct Lake semantic models in Microsoft Fabric.

More info: Affected users receive the following error message when attempting to open reports connected to Direct Lake semantic models: They cannot process this request right now because the OneLake security configuration has changed.

We recommend that users refresh the semantic model to be able to open the reports.

Current Update: 05/06/2026 08:41:00 AM– Microsoft’s deployment has reached the final portions of the impacted environment, and they will anticipate deployment to be completed by their next scheduled update, at which point they will test for remediation.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and some users attempting to open reports connected to Direct Lake semantic models in Microsoft Fabric are impact.

Root cause: A recent service update has introduced an impacting code regression, which is resulting in impact.
