Issue Status: ONGOING
Issue Description: Users see multiple impact scenarios for Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365) functionalities in Microsoft Teams.
More info: Impacted users report that they are unable to copy and paste URLs, text, and images in Microsoft Teams desktop client chats, as the paste option appears greyed out when using the right-click dropdown menu method.
To bypass impact, we recommended that users attempt to copy the intended URLs, text, and images using Ctrl + C and paste using Ctrl + V for Windows, and corresponding Cmd + C and Cmd + V for Mac.
Current Update: 22/04/2026 8:36:00 AM– Upon further validation, Microsoft has determined this issue only affects paste functionality and have updated the Title, User impact, More info, and Scope of impact fields to reflect this impact statement refinement. Regarding the status of this event, internal testing and reproduction of this issue show the fix is working as expected and mitigates this issue. Users will receive the fix through the next scheduled platform update. They are continuing to monitor the deployment and will provide updates on its status at next communication time.
Scope of impact: Any user attempting to use the copy and paste function in Microsoft Teams desktop client chats may be impacted by this event. This section may be updated as our investigation progresses.
Root cause: A recent update to the Microsoft Edge browser which Microsoft Teams leverages, contains a code regression resulting in impact.
