Issue Description: Users may have not received notifications in the Microsoft Teams desktop client.

More info: This issue appeared to be specific to the Microsoft Teams desktop client for Windows. Some affected users may have heard an incoming call ringtone but not received the associated notification, while other affected users may have not received notifications for chat messages.

Final Update: 24/07/2026 08:50:00 AM – Microsoft has confirmed that deployment of both of their remediation efforts completed for all affected users and the offending configuration change was reverted. They monitored this solution as it progressed and verified that impact was resolved by their actions.

Scope of impact: Some users who received incoming calls or messages and who were expecting to receive notifications in the Microsoft Teams desktop client for Windows may have been impacted.

Root cause: A recent configuration change intended to address a parallel impact changed the behavior of the notification window, which resulted in notifications not being displayed as expected.

Next steps: Microsoft has deployed a pre-emptive remediation which will ensure that users do not see service interruptions when receiving this update.
