Issue Description: Admins or users may be unable to see files’ meta data from endpoints in the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint portal.
Final Update: 13/05/2026 08:39:00 AM– Microsoft has confirmed the efficacy of the fix in their testing environment and have successfully deployed it to the impacted infrastructure. They have competed running tests to confirm that impact has been fully remediated.
Scope of impact: Impact is specific to admins or users attempting to view files’ meta data from endpoints in the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint portal.
Root cause: A recent code change may be inadvertently causing admins or users to be unable to see files’ meta data from endpoints in the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint portal.
Next Steps: Microsoft are reviewing their update procedures to better identify similar issues during our development and testing cycles.
