Issue Description: Users may be unable to access various Microsoft desktop applications on Windows Server 2016 devices.
More info: While Microsoft are focused on mitigation, they recommend that affected customers force an update to roll back to Version 2411 (Build 18227.20162), which can also be obtained by following these steps:
1) Open Command Prompt as Administrator
2) Run the following command: cd “C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun”
3) Run the following command: OfficeC2RClient.exe /changesetting Channel=Broad
4) Run the following command: OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user
Current Update: 14/01/2024 08:15:00 AM – The revert to version 2411 is in progress and Microsoft have received confirmation from some affected users that their Windows Server 2016 and 2019 devices are working as expected. They expect that it may take up to 24 hours for automated systems to pick up the change. They’ll continue monitoring the revert progress to verify that the impact is remediated.
Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.
Root cause: A recent Office update that integrates React Native framework to support certain features in Microsoft 365 applications has introduced a problem that”s leading to this impact.
