Issue Description: Users within Microsoft 365 groups without an owner may be unable to take ownership

More info: Users within a group without an owner are sent an email message asking if they’d like to take ownership.

A 500 HTTP error response is presented if a user selects “yes” or “no” within the message.

As a workaround users can reach out to admins to manually set the owner of the groups.

Current Update: 16/01/2025 09:04:00 AM – Microsoft’s are still experiencing delays with the deployment, but they anticipate it will be completed by their next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and impact is specific to users in Microsoft 365 groups without an owner and receive an ownership request.

Root cause: A regression within a recent update, intended to improve the user experience, is inadvertently causing a dependency exception issue and impact.
