Information – Temporary Rollback of “Keep Me Signed-in” Option Disablement

We recently implemented a change to enhance security by disabling the “Keep Me Signed-In” option across our Microsoft 365 services. This change was intended to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, particularly on shared or public devices, by requiring users to re-authenticate each time they closed and reopened their browser.
However, we understand that this change has had an unexpected impact, leading to frequent sign-in prompts and causing end-user disruption and inconvenience. As a result, we have taken the decision to temporarily roll back this change on 20/08/2024 until we have completed a further impact assessment. Our collective goal is to balance security with usability, and we will take the necessary time to explore options that protect your data while minimising inconvenience.
