Issue Description: Some Outlook for Mac users may be unable to report email messages as phishing as the Report Message button isn’t active.

More info: For affected users, the Report Message button is greyed out and can’t be selected.
Impact is specific to Outlook for Mac version 16.85+ and newer. While we work to resolve this issue, users can bypass impact where possible by reporting spam using Outlook on the web, Outlook for Windows, or the Outlook iOS or Android apps.

Final Update: 19/06/2024 09:35:00 AM – After Microsoft’s reversion of the recent service change and testing with affected users, they’ve confirmed that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact: Some users using Outlook for Mac version 16.85+ and newer can’t use the Report Message button to report email messages as phishing.

Root cause: A recent behavioral change implemented within the Exchange Online data pathways used to facilitate spam reports to affected users’ anti-spam service introduced an error that’s leading to impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are further analyzing their offending behavioral change to the Exchange Online data pathways to help us isolate similar problems during their pre-deployment testing and validation processes.
