Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Users may be unable to access the Question and Answers (Q&A) feature within Microsoft Teams meetings.

More info: The problem occurs within the Microsoft Teams desktop and web clients and happens during meetings started from channels as well as live events. Affected users are seeing the following message: “Q&A was not set up for this meeting”.

Final Update: 21/10/2024 08:38:00 AM – The deployment of the fix has completed and Microsoft have confirmed through monitoring service telemetry that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user opening the Q&A panel within Microsoft Teams meetings and channels may be impacted.

Root cause: An update to a portion of code that facilitates the Q&A feature contains an error in the way the meeting IDs are handled, resulting in impact.

Next Steps: Microsoft are reviewing their feature update testing and validation methods to better identify the potential for impact to Microsoft Teams meeting features prior to deployment to prevent similar impact in the future, and to improve our pre-deployment update testing processes.
