Issue Description: External users may be unable to join shared channels using the new Microsoft Teams desktop and web clients.

Final Update: 11/04/2024 09:06:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed through their internal telemetry that the offending update has been successfully reverted throughout the affected environment.

Scope of impact: Any external user attempting to access shared channels using the new Microsoft Teams desktop and web clients may be affected.

Root cause: A recent service update to the Microsoft Teams service infrastructure is resulting in the impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their update testing and validation methods to better identify the potential for issues such as this prior to deployment to prevent similar impact in the future.
