Issue Description: Users may be unable to view or access applications in office.com or Microsoft365.com.
Final Update: 30/09/2024 10:54:00 AM –After a period of monitoring, Microsoft have confirmed, through customer reports and telemetry, that access to the web portals has been restored.
Scope of impact : Most of the reports are from Western Europe, United States and Japan. Impact is specific to those users who are served through the affected infrastructure.
Root cause: An unexpected increase in service requests causing our caching infrastructure to become degraded, preventing users from accessing the service. Further details will be provided in the Post-Incident Report.
Next update: Microsoft will continue to investigate the caching infrastructure to establish what happened and they are reviewing their monitoring to improve our alerting and response time to this type of impact scenario.
