More info: This issue may intermittently impact the following automated retention policy actions:
– Triggering disposition review at the end of retention period.
– Deletion of content at the end of retention period.
– Automatic application of retention labels in Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint Online.
– Triggering Power Automate flows at the end of retention period.
Final Update: 29/04/2024 14:23:00 PM – Microsoft concluded the process of deploying their fix to the affected infrastructure, and have confirmed following a period monitoring the service environment that impact has been remediated.
Scope of impact: Any user’s automated retention policy actions may intermittently not apply as expected in multiple Microsoft 365 services
Root cause: A recent update to a component of Microsoft 365 infrastructure responsible for executing automated retention policy actions introduced a code regression that’s leading to impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their scheduled service update procedures to reduce or avoid similar impact in the future.
