Issue Description: Users’ push notifications fail approximately five percent of the time for any Exchange Online connection method.

More Info: Most push notification failures are occurring on Outlook for iOS devices.

Final Update: 06/05/2024 08:51:00 AM – Microsoft’s monitoring has confirmed that the reversion of the change has completed and they have validated remediation with affected users.

Scope of impact: This issue may be impacting any user and impacting push notifications.

Root cause: A recent service update intended to modernize various aspects of the Exchange Online service introduced a code regression that’s producing the small number of push notifications failures and causing the impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are continuing their review of the impacting update to better understand the underlying cause of impact and prevent similar issues in the future.
