Issue Description: Users may have encountered various authentication delays and failures in Microsoft Intune.
More info: Due to an upstream service issue, users that attempted to enroll devices, apply new policies, or make various changes within the device directory service, user service, Intune defender service, and/or group policy sync service in Microsoft Intune may have encountered failures.
Final Update: 22/01/2024 08:54:00 AM – Microsoft completed recovery actions on the affected section of infrastructure and can confirm after a period of monitoring that service is restored.
Scope of impact: Users serviced by the affected portions of infrastructure that attempted to enroll devices, acquire or apply new policies, or make various other changes within the device directory service and user service in Microsoft Intune were impacted.
Root cause: An upstream service issue related to certain portions of regional service infrastructure was not processing requests as expected and resulted in impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are further reviewing the event and the circumstances that lead to impact, so that they can identify next steps that’ll help them further improve the reliability and resiliency of their service.
