Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Admins may be unable to modify hold policies within eDiscovery (Standard).

Final Update: 17/01/2024 09:05:00 AM – Following Microsoft’s fix deployment, they have confirmed with affected users that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact: Any admin attempting to modify hold policies may be affected, but only a small number appear to be impacted based on our service telemetry.

Root Cause: Hold policy modifications aren’t completing as expected because a component of service infrastructure that’s responsible for such modifications is encountering a transient error due to a resource contention issue.

Next steps: Microsoft are further analyzing the resource contention problem and their hold policy modifications to help them prevent similar impact in the future.
