Issue Description: Users may be unable to access or create Microsoft 365 Groups via Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online.
More info: Specifically, users are unable to access or create Microsoft 365 Groups via the Microsoft 365 admin center, Microsoft Teams admin center, Outlook on the web or the Outlook desktop client. Additionally, admins may be unable change group settings in Microsoft 365 Groups.
Final Update: 15/12/2023 08:58:00 AM – Microsoft have successfully deployed the fix to the affected environments and confirmed with some affected users that impact has been remediated.
In relation to the fix, Microsoft are continuing to prepare their fix for deployment which they are expecting will have remediated impact by their next scheduled update.
Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.
Root cause: A recent scheduled update contained a change, applied to a specific cmdlet responsible for regulating access to Microsoft 365 Groups, which is inadvertently causing impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their update procedures to better identify similar issues during their development and testing cycles.
