Description: Internal monitoring has identified an issue with mail delivery from external recipients to nhs.net accounts and mail sent using the NHSmail High Send relay.

Engineers are urgently investigating the issue to try and resolve it as soon as possible. To support our investigation, we have raised a Severity A ticket with Microsoft and opened an urgent case with Trend as well.

The majority of mails are being delivered, however, to avoid more significant impact, some mails are being moved into the Hold queues on our Relay Gateway and these will be delayed until the issue is resolved and the backlog cleared. Further updates will be provided as soon as more details become available.

Final Update : 23/08/2023 15:55:00 PM – This issue has been resolved and all traffic is flowing across the NHSmail Relay gateway without issues. The backlog has also been cleared. Investigations to identify and understand the root cause are ongoing.
