Issue Description : Some users may be unable to join external meetings as a guest using the Microsoft Teams web client.
More Info : Guest users using older browser versions may receive a “try again” error message when attempting to join meetings in Microsoft Teams. As a workaround, users may be able to update their browsers or utilize the Microsoft Teams mobile or desktop applications.
Affected browsers and versions include, but aren’t limited to:
– Chrome or Edge prior to the 93 version
– Opera prior to the 79 version
– Internet Explorer
Final Update : 09/08/2023 13:26:00 PM – Microsoft confirmed that the deployment of the fix is complete, and their telemetry shows the issue has been remediated. Affected users should experience immediate relief from impact, however it is recommended users clear their cache.
Scope of impact : Impact is specific to some guest users who are served through the affected infrastructure, attempting to join external meetings using the Microsoft Teams web client.
Root cause : A recent standard service update inadvertently contains a code regression, which is resulting in impact.
Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their update procedures to better identify similar issues during the development and testing cycles.
