Issue Description : Users see multiple outbound calls in Microsoft Teams call logs when a single outbound call is made.
More Info : The issue is specific to the Microsoft Teams desktop client and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) users. Users may also hear audio from the second call while in their outbound call.
Users may experience this when double clicking the phone icon or call button in the following scenarios:
– Call button in call history or activity feed
– Phone icon in call details in call history
– Phone icon in speed dial
– Phone number link in contacts list
Final Update : 02/06/2023 08:30:00 AM – Microsoft have determined that a feature update to allow two PSTN calls to the same phone number to be active while one call is already active contained a code issue which caused the reported impact. They’ve reverted this change and confirmed through service telemetry that the impact has been successfully remediated.
Scope of impact : This issue may affect any user placing outbound PSTN calls in Microsoft Teams and double clicking in one of the affected scenarios.
Root cause : A feature update to allow two PSTN calls to the same phone number to be active while one call is already active contained a code issue which caused the reported impact.
Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing this update to understand why it contained an issue to improve their testing and validation cycles to prevent similar impact from reoccurring.
