Issue Description : Users are unable to delete private and shared channels within Microsoft Team via all connection methods.

Final Update : 29/05/2023 01:25:00 PM – Microsoft finished reverting the offending update, and have received confirmation from affected users that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact : Your organization is affected by this event, and users attempting to delete private and shared channels within Microsoft Teams are impacted.

Root cause : A recent update to the retention policy, part of standard service maintenance, unexpectedly contained a code regression which was preventing users from deleting private and shared channels within Microsoft Teams via all connection methods.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing the standard service maintenance procedures to understand why the code regression prevented users from deleting private and shared channels, in order to avoid similar issues from happening again.
