Issue Description : Some users’ apps that use the MAPI API to connect to Exchange Online may intermittently fail to connect or refresh data.
More Information : The risk of consistent impact is low as the problem is infrequent in nature and retries, both automated and manual, to access the service through the MAPI API are often successful.As an example of how this affects apps, some users report that calendar items, contact details, and email messages may not update temporarily.
Final : 09/03/2023 09:04:00 AM – After further validation and adjustment to the efficiency of our change, Microsoft have confirmed through internal telemetry that the impact has successfully been resolved.
Scope of impact : Some users with apps that leverage the MAPI API to connect to Exchange Online may intermittently experience impact.
Root cause : MAPI API calls intermittently fail and cause transient service impact.
Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing MAPI API calls processes and procedures to prevent similar impact like this one from happening in the future.
