Issue Description : Users may be unable to use various Microsoft 365 apps or features.

More Information : Various Microsoft 365 services are affected as part of the overall event. They will continue updating this list as they learn more about this issue:– Microsoft Power Apps: Users may be unable to access the service.– Microsoft Intune: The data syncing issue from Azure AD and in Microsoft Intune has been remediated alongside the additional impact of enrolling and checking in devices in the Asia-Pacific region. Affected users may still be intermittently unable to view some User Interface (UI) features in Microsoft Intune.– Microsoft 365 Defender: Users may notice stale data for Advanced Hunting, Insider Risk, alerts or custom detections, Privacy Management, investigations, Threat Explorer, email entity reports, auto investigations and encounter delays for email remediation actions.– Microsoft Purview: Admins are unable to manage cases and start collections with Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium). Admins may be unable to receive policy matches or act on existing policy matches via communication compliance within Microsoft Purview. Admins are unable to receive insights and alerts or act on existing policies via Insider Risk Management.– Windows 365 Cloud PC: Users may be unable to connect to Windows 365 Cloud PC or provision Cloud PCs in the affected region.– Microsoft Project: Users may be unable to create or open projects.These services are no longer affected by this event:– Universal Print: Users may have been unable to print.– Microsoft Teams: For additional information see SHD post TM512596

Current Update : 10/02/2023 09:04:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed through monitoring that Microsoft Purview has recovered, as well as all other affected services, concluding impact associated with this event.

Scope of impact : This issue primarily impacts users located within or hosted through the Asia Pacific and Australia regions, but could impact any user if served through those regions as well. Users located in non-impacted regions may see impact when attempting to interact with an affected user.

Root cause : A power surge event within one of our Azure data centers in Southeast Asia resulted in some of the service infrastructure to become unavailable for traffic, causing impact to multiple services.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing options to more quickly mitigate end-user impact in similar issues in the future.
