Issue Description : Unable to send, receive, or search email through Exchange Online.

More Information : Exchange functionality such as Calendar APIs consumed by other services such as Microsoft Teams are also affected.SharePoint Online search queries are also affected. Users may receive the following error message when running search queries “Error: Sorry something went wrong” when utilizing Knowledge Management (KM) portal on Dlnet”.

Final Update : 07/02/2023 17:19:00 PM – Microsoft have completed the mitigation actions and confirmed that the issue is resolved after an extended period of monitoring.

Scope of impact : This issue can affect any user accessing Exchange Online from any region.

Root cause : A misconfiguration within a subset of Exchange Online infrastructure that is responsible for routing traffic, resulted in impact to the service.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing the underlying traffic routing and mailbox infrastructures to prevent similar impact from happening again.
