Issue Description : Some users may be unable to apply policies to folders via Outlook on the web.

More info : To avoid this issue until the issue is remediated, affected users are able to apply policies by first adding the folder as a favorite and applying the policy from the folder within the favorites section.

Scope of impact : Users attempting to apply personal tags to folders may be impacted.

Final Update : 03/01/2023 12:18:00 PM – Development and deployment of the fix to correct the routing issue is complete, and Microsoft has confirmed with affected users that policies are now being correctly applied and impact is remediated.

Root Cause : A change to Outlook on the web infrastructure, intended to improve the logic responsible for routing policy changes to the targeted folders, introduced a conflict that’s causing the affected policy changes to be routed incorrectly and resulting in impact.

Next steps : Microsoft is reviewing their update policies pertaining to policy routing in Outlook on the web to prevent similar future impact.
