INC32900914 – Mail Delivery Issue – RESOLVED

Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: We are aware of an issue causing a delay to email delivery via the Relay this morning. We believe at this time that the impact is on mail from external senders to nhs.net mail accounts only, and potentially mail sent via the high-send relay (sometimes referred to as the SMTP Relay). Mails from nhs.net to nhs.net are unimpacted, as are mails from nhs.net sent externally.

Final Update: 24/11/2022 17:00:00 PM – One of our 3rd-party suppliers identified what they believe to be the cause of the issue and took steps to mitigate this. Mails were being processed as expected after 45 minutes and the backlog of mails moved manually held to relieve some pressure on the platform were all released. We have monitored over the past 48 hours and have seen no re-occurrence of this issue. Investigations continue into the root cause of issue and we are supporting where possible.
