Issue Description : Users may have been unable to download the Office installer from https://portal.office.com/account

More info : Affected users could have clicked on the “Install Office” button within the page, but the download didn’t initiate and the button disappeared from the page until refreshed.

Scope of impact : Any user attempting to download the Office installer from https://portal.office.com/account may have been impacted.

Final Update : 11/10/2022 11:22:00 AM – Microsoft confirmed that the revert of the offending change has completed and they have verified via telemetry that this has remediated the issue.

Root cause : A recent update introduced a code issue that was causing a misconfiguration within the underlying code, which resulted in impact.

Next steps : Microsoft is reviewing their update processes and procedures to better identify similar issues in their development and testing cycles so they can avoid comparable impact in the future.
