Issue Description : Users may have been unable to log into the Microsoft Forms service through the marketing page.

More info : As a workaround, users may have been able to log in by opening the following link – https://forms.office.com/Pages/DesignPageV2.aspx directly or opening office.com and logging in.

Scope of impact : Impact was specific to some users who were served through the affected infrastructure.

Current Update : 22/09/2022 15:36:00 PM – During Microsoft’s root cause investigation, they found that authentication requests from the marketing page to Microsoft Forms were failing when connecting to Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), leading to impact. They applied a targeted configuration change to mitigate the impact, as the underlying problem is still under investigation, and confirmed through our telemetry that impact is no longer occurring.

Next steps : Microsoft is continuing their review of this event to understand what led to the authentication request failures with Azure AD to find ways to avoid repeats of similar impact in the future.
