Issue Description : Users may have been unable to view stock images in SharePoint Online.

Scope of impact : Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Final Update : 16/08/2022 11:40:00 AM – Microsoft has confirmed that the authentication component remediating the third-party partner CDN configuration issue has been successfully deployed and they have received verification from some formerly affected users that the issue is resolved.

Root cause : An issue with a third-party partner CDN provider authentication component responsible for facilitating users’ ability to see stock images in SharePoint Online sites caused a misconfiguration which resulted in impact.

Next steps : Microsoft is reexamining their authentication component renewal process to prevent similar future impact from occurring.
