Issue Description : Users’ Microsoft Teams desktop client is intermittently crashing at launch.

Scope of impact : Your organization is affected by this event, and some users attempting to access Microsoft Teams desktop client may be impacted.

Final Update : 11/08/2022 10:18:00 AM – Microsoft confirmed that the deployment has completed and this issue is resolved after monitoring telemetry.

Root cause : A recent update that was intended to optimize audio format collection introduced a code issue that caused the Microsoft Teams desktop client to intermittently crash at launch.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their validation and update procedures to detect and prevent issues like this prior to deployment in the future.
