Issue Description : Users’ content may take longer than expected to show up within searches for various Microsoft 365 services.
More Info : Searches done within Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, or Microsoft Teams may be impacted. Affected content can take up to three hours to show up in searches.
Scope of impact : This issue can affect any user and any search for up to three hours, although it’s unlikely that all users and all content searches are actively impacted at once.
Final Update : 31/08/2022 17:40:00 PM – Deployment of the fix to the affected environments has completed successfully and Microsoft have confirmed that impact has been remediated after carefully monitoring the environment.
Root cause : A code update was causing some search requests to continuously loop and eventually timeout, resulting in impact.
Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing the update procedures to better identify similar issues during their development and testing cycles.
