INC29940746 – URL Mail Delivery Issue – RESOLVED

Description: We are aware of an issue that potentially would have prevented mails that were sent or should have been received between 15:00 on Thursday the 23rd of June and 17:00 on Friday the 24th June inclusive. This issue may have impacted messages that meet the following criteria:

  • Messages sent FROM an nhs.net account to an external domain (i.e. Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)
  • Messages sent TO an nhs.net account from an external domain (i.e. Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)
  • Messages sent from an from an nhs.net account using the High Send Relay (sometimes referred to as the SMTP Relay).
  • ONLY messages that contain a unique URL that has not previously been ingested and scanned by NHSmail security components.

Final Update: 27/06/2022 09:12:00 AM – NHSmail engineers have been working to fix the issue and have managed to fully resolve it. All impacted mails, which were incorrectly routed to one of our NHSmail security components and held, have now been released. Whilst delivery of mails cannot be guaranteed, all legitimate emails that have met the security criteria associated with the NHSmail platform have now been delivered as expected.
