Issue Description : Users may see unexpected behaviour for personal bookmarks with personalized visuals in Power BI.

More info : There is an unexpected behavior affecting the following features:
– Personal Bookmarks.
– Bookmark Manager. Capture API with the personalize Visuals option set to true.
If you capture a bookmark of a report with visuals that haven’t been personalized, applying the bookmark after personalizing those visuals will not revert them to their original states.

The visuals will remain in their personalized states.

The above behavior will be changed so that applying the bookmark will return the visual to its state before it was personalized.

The change is needed as it fixes an unexpected behavior. If it breaks a scenario, you already rely on, you should capture a new bookmark with the desired personalization instead.

Scope of impact : Your organization is impacted by this event, and impacts Power BI users using Personal Bookmarks or the Bookmark Manager. Capture API with personalized visuals.

Final Update : 15/06/2022 09:00:00 AM – Microsoft confirmed that the newly implemented feature has been successfully deployed and impact is no longer occurring.

Root cause : A design issue with personal bookmarks was causing Personal Bookmarks and BookmarkManager.Capture API features to encounter unexpected behaviors.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their personal bookmarks design procedures to help them prevent similar issues occurring in the future.
