Issue Description: Users are encountering an error when reporting messages as junk in Outlook on the web.
More info: Users may have seen the following error message –
“Can’t report junk, you can’t report a message as junk from a sender in your own organization.”
While we were working toward remediation, affected users could have used the Outlook desktop or mobile clients as a workaround.
Scope of Impact : Any user reporting messages as junk while using Outlook on the web was impacted.
Final Update: 29/03/2022 08:34:00 AM – Microsoft reverted the offending change and confirmed with internal telemetry that the issue is resolved.
Root cause : A recent service update to junk email reporting contained a regression, which resulted in impact.
Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing the regression in the recent service update to better understand what caused it and to assess how the problem wasn’t identified during their update testing procedures.
