Skype for Business Web App Upgrade

The NHSmail live service will be upgrading the Skype for Business web application on the 19th October 2019, to offer a better user experience when joining a Skype for Business meeting via a web browser.

The new update will ensure the latest web application plug-in is always used and provides:

simplified meeting joining
optimised screen display
the option to save meetings settings – display name and audio preference.

The plug-in does not require administrative rights for installation.

The update has minor changes with regards what users will see when joining a meeting as per the screenshots below:

Note: Users using the Skype for Business desktop or mobile applications are not affected by this upgrade.
