Issue Status: FALSE POSITIVE

Issue Description: Admins may not see some eDiscovery search results within the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.

More info: Admins may not receive the expected eDiscovery search results within the compliance portal for documents with a label being applied with encryption. The files are showing up in users’ OneDrive accounts but can’t be located with eDiscovery searches.

Current Update: 25/09/2024 08:54:00 AM Microsoft  investigation has determined that some components of infrastructure responsible for calling the endpoints required to ingest the affected search results are encountering an error that’s causing the service to incorrectly identify those search results as restricted, leading to impact. They are developing a fix to resolve this issue. They anticipate that the development will be complete by their next scheduled communications update, at which time they will validate the fix for efficacy before deploying to the impacted service environments. In parallel, they are preparing a script for affected admins to run within their environment to resync the affected labels to the search service once the fix is deployed to ensure it takes effect as expected.

Scope of impact : Some admins serviced through the affected infrastructure performing eDiscovery searches through the compliance portal may be impacted.

Root cause: Some components of infrastructure responsible for calling the endpoints required to ingest the affected search results are encountering an error that’s causing the service to incorrectly identify those search results as restricted, leading to impact.
