Issue Description: Users may be unable to query Copilot Chat and receive an error.

More info: When users attempted to query Copilot Chat, some of their queries may have returned no response and instead, users may have received an error that stated, “Something went wrong.”

Final Update: 07/09/2026 09:54:00 AM – Microsoft’s review of the service health telemetry isolated that a recent configuration change caused a subset of requests to be rejected, resulting in elevated error rates and resulted in impact. They have since reverted the offending change and after an extended period of monitoring, they have confirmed that impact was remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user who attempted to query Copilot Chat may be impacted.

Root cause: A recent configuration change caused a subset of query requests to be rejected, resulting in elevated error rates and resulted in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft will review their service update validation process to ensure similar instances aren’t replicated in the future.
