Issue Description: Admins may have experienced 30-minute delays on average in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint detections.

Final Update: 01/09/2026 10:43:00 AM – Microsoft has completed processing the accumulated backlog of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint detections in the Microsoft 365 Defender portal and Microsoft Sentinel and validated that the issue is remediated.

Scope of impact: Some admins expecting to receive Microsoft Defender for Endpoint detections in the Microsoft 365 Defender portal and Microsoft Sentinel detections may have been impacted.

Root cause: A section of the detection processing infrastructure was causing delays in the detections pipeline.

Next steps: Microsoft is analysing the affected detection processing infrastructure to further their understanding of the underlying source of impact and to validate what actions they can take to ensure similar impact scenarios don’t occur in the future.
