Issue Description: Users may have experienced delays receiving notifications for Teams Recap Podcasts in Microsoft Teams.

More info:Users may have experienced delays receiving reminder notifications that prompted them to generate Teams Recap Podcasts. Notifications sent after a podcast had already been generated weren’t impacted.

Final Update: 22/07/2026 09:06:00 AM – After analyzing service telemetry and recent updates, Microsoft has isolated that a recent service update, which was intended to inform users that they could generate Teams Recap Podcasts, caused an unexpected influx in notifications which Microsoft Graph API was unable to process effectively, resulting in impact. They have rolled back the offending update and validated after monitoring service telemetry that their actions successfully remediated impact.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to users in North America and South America who were expecting to receive notifications for Teams Recap Podcasts in Microsoft Teams.

Root cause: A recent service update, which was intended to inform users that they could generate Teams Recap Podcasts, caused an unexpected influx in notifications which Microsoft Graph API was unable to process effectively, resulting in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft is analyzing the offending service update to isolate why the potential for impact wasn’t caught during our internal update testing and validation phases. Simultaneously, they are validating why Microsoft Graph API was unable to handle the influx of requests to determine what performance optimisations they can implement to ensure similar impact scenarios don’t occur in the future.
