Issue Status: ONGOING

Issue Description: Users may be unable to drag and drop files to add references into Copilot Notebooks.

More info: Affected users can avoid the issue by referencing files from their local PC by choosing the ‘Upload from this device’ icon to the right of the search bar. To reference files stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, affected users can use search or choose the cloud icon to the far right from the search bar.

Current Update: 21/07/2026 08:55:00 AM – Microsoft has identified that an update intended to optimise the service contains an error that’s resulting in this issue. They have reverted this change to relieve impact and anticipate that this process will be complete by their next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: Users attempting to drag and drop files to add references into Copilot Notebooks may be unable to do so.
